Delightfully Scary!

I’m really hooked in watching films especially in the horror-genre. But the typical “ghost-haunting” scenes and horror flavour are not my type. I like slasher films (which is still under the Horror category) especially ones that involve bloody and gory scenes or to simplify the films with serial killers. I’m also fond of “demon” films with demons tormenting its victims and the like or just for the “surprise” factors of a movie.

Last June 3, 2009 (just this Wednesday), me and my mom watched the newly-shown film here in the Philippines entitled Drag Me to Hell. The trailers publicized in the television really persuaded me to watch it.

11:20am: The time we bought out peach-colored tickets then went in theatre / cinema #2. We gave our passes to the young man as the “ticket-collector” (I don’t know the right term) and then he spoke with a warning: “Ma’am (to my mom), nakakatakot po talaga ang pelikulang yan. Ingat po kayo”. Woooh! *Nanuod na siya agad XD!

When we got inside, only 5 of us are there in the theatre: 3 boys & 2 girls. The movie started at 10:20am, we’re in the half-part. We finished the film and started it all over again. We finished at around 3:00pm. As for my appraisal:

“The film was very, very, very scary! The scenes were very light but very convincing. The scares and “surprise” attacks of the demon made me jump out of my seat. I really love films with scenes of no background music / sound for a few seconds then you’ll never know when it will surprise the victim plus the hair-tingling sound effects / music! Some scenes were very terrifying and I can say ghastly which were unpleasant to watch but very well.”Drag Me to Hell” delivered endless scares and screams to the viewers and as for me; it haunted me in my dreams! Excellent special and sound effects and the cast also especially Alison Lohman, I really loved her acting there. Therefore, the film’s frightening and wonderfully good! Love it when I scream. Oh and I’ll never forget its startling twist ending.”

Now I realized the ticket collector was right. XD

I Admit! I'm Still Childish :D

I suppose every person has his own “childish” side (smile!). Kasi ako meron pa at hindi iyon mawawala pa kailanman. I think it’s nice to be childish at times and when you have discipline pero wag sosobra diba? Hehe. By the way, ayun nga, kahit you show a little “childishness” okay yun in my opinion, happiness will stay longer if you think you’re young (sabi sa akin ng friend ko ‘yan).
Ako, 15-years old na, naglalaro pa rin ng teddy bears! But now, not anymore. XD)

For 2 years (2005-2006), when I was in Grade 5 tapos hanggang sa naging Grade 6, nag-iipon at nagpapabili ako sa aking pinakamamahal na ina ng sangkatutak na Meiji Yan-Yan snacks. :D

They’re called365 Meiji Birthday Bears”. Isang bear kada Yan-Yan pack or isang Yan-Yan mismo. Dati, when you buy 5 Yan-Yan’s, 1 bear, pero as time went by, 1 Yan-Yan = 1 bear. I remember Christmas time nun at nagkaroon ako ng bear nay un na binili ng pinsan ko. Siya ang kauna-unahang bear ko: plain lime green ang kulay with gray ears, hands and feet at ang name niya ay naka-indicate sa nametag na nakakabit sa kanya complete with Japanese name, zodiac at birthday.

Example: Pearl Winfrey – (from) Oprah Winfrey; Mint Greenfields (kasi green ang kulay niya); Cherry Polkadots (polkadots kasi design)

When I was in 1st Year, sinimulan ko silang ipasyal sa school.

As of now, mayroon akong 123 bears.

Take a look sa aking collection ng “Meiji Birthday Bears”. I didn’t put their birthdays anymore for more space. Enjoy! Click to view them.

Hiram lang! Bawal hingin. =)

Seventy-Nine

Practicing my English language: Forget about the typo and grammatical errors :D

I really believe that luxury and comfort will come after tough, demanding and gruelling work and activities from the past 10 months of class. Within those days I bid farewell of being an adolescent ‘cause I really feel that I’m a TEEN. Goodbye Red and soon hello to Blue! But before the time I’m going to wear my Blue ID cord, of course the span of almost 12 weeks of unwinding came first and a lot of stories happened and I’ll share what I did this summer (aside doing household chores).

Oh yes, the wedding, right. That was my 2nd time to be present at a wedding ceremony AND 1st time to see a live “you may kiss a bride” part of the rite X). Sweet catering at the reception came after the rite, with such delectable dishes: blue marlin, steaks etc. Although I never drink iced tea BEFORE, I forced myself to imbibe it. But after I drank the whole “glass”, my digestive machine broke causing such painful and burning sensation in my stomach. The “burn” circulates around my abdomen. For the whole information of my pain, visit my site. This became the reason of our (family’s) departure not to mention it’s also very late.

The “curse” I call continued for 5 weeks. At first I kept it a secret but soon the pain just won’t fade being the cause of my 2-day hospitalization (take note: Holy Thursday – Good Friday). There were possibilities of UTI (Urinary Tract Infection), gastritis and even ulcer. The result of tests: hyperacidity. After some treatment, it went away.

I love watching movies! Estimated count of movies that I watched this summer was 50+. 30+ in DVDs, 20+ in television and 3 in the big screen. Wow! Those maybe the causes of my 250-150 eye grade but I tried to lessen the habit. Since Blu-ray came here in the Philippines, clearer entertainment made me happy. Also, as I browse the net for some interesting ones, I got interested in post-apocalyptic films such as “I am Legend” & “28 Days Later”. But so far, films like “E.T: Extra-Terrestrial”, “Amityville Horror (2006)”, “The Messengers”, “BFF: Best Friends Forever”, “T2” and “You Changed My Life” became my favorites.

Aside from movies, I spent my summer watching shows in TV. For the first time in my life, I learned to watch comedy-drama-romantic dramas such as “Kambal sa Uma”, “Tayong Dalawa”, “Only You” and “Boys Over Flowers”. Also I will never forget this one show run via clay-animation which made me wake up very early this summer: Pingu. At first I thought its language is just “adlib” or Swiss language because the show’s from Switzerland, but I later found out it’s Penguinese. It’s very cute and just disregard the “talking” because you’ll learn a lot from it. I wake up every 6:00am just to watch it then sleep another 2 hours after watching it.

Also, I got chances to watch my most favourite variety game show, “Wowowee” completely this summer. No boring episodes ever and the funny thing is I dance during their introduction. In addition, I’m more updated with the world because I finally get to watch the news.

It just seems like I can’t live without entertainment!

Downloading songs became one of my computer habits this summer. Every show that I’m interested in, I download the songs from its soundtrack like “Boys over Flowers” and “Hot Shot”. I just ignore the lyrics because I don’t understand Mandarin or even Korean, I’m after to the “sound” or the melody of the song. I treat my cellphone as my iPod for the reason that I use it as a music player and not as a communicating device anymore.

One pastime I do is to read and read and read. I don’t actually open my upcoming school books during summer or scan my previous lessons but I read general info in the internet, magazines and books. You may disagree on that but I just never do that “reviewing stuff”. To tell the truth, I learned many things when I read everyday and that’s when I comprehended that the phrase posted in our school library “Read to Lead!” is true. Even topics unrelated to our school subjects such as cryptozoology, astrology and the like became my fields of interest. I love reading!!! :D

You’re probably wondering why the title’s like that. It’s just last March 26, 2009, after 2 months of my friends’ convincing, I changed my network (in the cellphone world). They want me to change so they can text me always of course by the use of what they call “unlimited texting”. At first I’m not “in to” that kind of service because it may instigate the “source of addiction”. I tried my first “unli” at PHP20 and I got a lot of textmates (my friends of course). As time goes, I shift to PHP40 then PHP80. For a fact I used this “unli” service 22 times with eighteen PHP20 (1 day each), two PHP40 (2 days) and two PHP80 (5 days). What I realized is the pleasure of “chatting” with my friends all the time, saying hello, sharing stories, quotes, jokes, even secrets (shhh...). This also caused me to have finger strains and red marks! This “unli” thing also flooded my inbox up to 500 messages! But I told myself to get rid of this habit ‘cause school days are coming and I don’t want THIS to distract me from studying.

Wooh! There you have it, hobbies of a 15-year old during the 3 month-vacation. No swimming no outings, just going to the mall and stay inside the house, that’s how I spent my bummer vacation. I can consider it boring at first but it turns out it’s a lot of fun...? :D

I’m gonna be a 4th year student! Goodness!!! Time is fast....

Will These Truths Set Me Free?

"Truth is always strange — stranger than fiction."
~ Lord Byron

Finally I got some time to write in my old blog site 'cause it's never been updated for the past 2 months. :)

November 2007: There’s this one book that caught my attention. It’s called The Book of Answers”. This book contains numerous answers (that’s why it’s called “The Book of Answers” right?). The person who’ll use it must have a question in his mind that could only be answered by either a “yes” or a “no”. If the user has his question and he’s able to concentrate with it, he’ll just simply open the book and whatever words come in display, that’s the answer to his question. If any occasion the answer is “too far away” from the question, he can repeat the processes of questioning and opening the book.

I, as an owner of this super rare book, have asked some questions. The phrases/ words below the questions were the answers from the book:

1.) Will I be able to go to South Korea?
- That would be a waste of money
* Why?? I have a dream there :(

2.) Will I get married someday?
- Don't be ridiculous.
* Well, it's not one of my plans and I have a call.

3.) Will I have a girlfriend?
- Never
* That's a relief :D

4.) Will I get any fatter?
- The answer is in your backyard
* I'll eat all the plants there?

5.) Am I the problem carrier of my family?
- Remove your obstacles
* Oh no!
6.) Am I going to achieve the "thing" that I yearn for in my last year in High School?
- Shift your focus
* Okay, I trust this answer.

7.) Will my first day in class ths June 8 be good?
- It's gonna be great
* Really?

8.) Will I be successful someday?
- You must act now
* Okay.

9.) Am I cute?
- Yes
* I've known it since I was 10 years old. :D (kidding)

10.) Are the answers from this book (The Book of Answers) true?
- It will bring you good luck

11.) Will I be able to go to parties/ disco nights when I'm in college?
- That would be a waste of money
* Am I not allowed?

12.) Will I be able to see the "Seoul" pair in South Korea someday?
- Definitely
* I love this answer!

Haha! Hope these answers are all true especially the last question. This book is just for fun-sake but SOME may come true. BUT WE hold the outcome of our very own lives meaning we don't rely our future to this book, it's up to us. Is that right?

Smile!
